An Ode to Racism
O, Racism, thou art a blight upon our earth,
A shadow cast on humanity's birth,
In ignorance and hatred thou dost dwell,
A tale of sorrow, in silence, to tell.
Thy roots run deep in history's vast field,
A poison tree whose bitter fruits are revealed,
From ancient times to present days’ divide,
Injustice and pain by thy side reside.
O, Racism, thou severs hearts and minds,
Thy cruel hand leaves justice in binds,
Thou whispers lies of color and of race,
A falsehood etched upon the human face.
In every land thy presence lingers still,
A force that sows division with its will,
Yet in the hearts of many, there lies a spark,
A dream to chase away thy cruel dark.
For every time thou casts thy shadow wide,
The light of truth and love will not abide,
The voices rise in chorus strong and clear,
To fight thy presence, to hold what’s dear.
O, Racism, thy reign we shall defy,
For in the human spirit, hope will lie,
A future where thy name will be unknown,
In unity and peace, the seeds are sown.
From every corner of this world so vast,
The chains of hatred we shall break at last,
O, Racism, thy time will surely pass,
Replaced by bonds of love that ever last.
With courage bold, we face thee, standing tall,
Injustice and division shall not enthrall,
For in each heart a common beat we find,
A world of love, a vision for mankind.
O, Racism, be gone from every place,
Let understanding shine upon each face,
In brotherhood and sisterhood we stand,
A united, peaceful, and harmonious land.
So, let this ode be sung by every tongue,
A hymn of hope, by every heart be sung,
O, Racism, thou shalt not reign supreme,
For unity and love, our ultimate dream.
